48th District Senator Chris Gebhard is announcing his bid to win the Republican Party Nomination for the 48th District State Senate seat he currently holds.
It comes – following a year that saw him win a special election last May to fill the seat after the death of Senator Dave Arnold in January 2021.
His decision to run for the Republican nomination in the primary and hopefully, reelection this fall comes after reflecting on what he learned about state government and was able to accomplish in office, thus far:
If the recently-submitted state senate district map holds, the 48th district will lose the portions of Dauphin and York Counties that are currently in its boundaries, but will pick up parts of Berks and Lancaster Counties.
He believes the changes make sense, and will stand:
If re-elected, Senator Gebhard says one of the main issues he will continue to work on is growing Pennsylvania’s economy by making the corporate tax environment more competitive.
