The Eastern Lebanon County School Board was in a spending mood Monday night, with nearly $300,000 in purchases on the agenda.
Among the items approved for purchase is a 2022 Ford Police Interceptor sport utility vehicle from Hondru Ford for use by the district’s school police officer. The price tag for that new vehicle is just under $45,000.
Also approved is $106,000 worth of new high school weight room equipment, 5 new evacuation-style wheelchairs that can transport disabled people up and down stairs during emergencies for nearly $15,000.
There will be new security cameras for both the ELCO Middle School and ELCO Stadium at a combined cost of almost $79,000 and a Deere & Company electric Gator from Bomberger’s, costing nearly $14,000. It will be used on the new turf athletic field.
But General Services Committee Chairman David Ziegler pulled a second proposed purchase from Bomberger’s for $41,000 for two plow tractors:
The School Board tabled the motion to buy the plow tractors, pending further research by the General Services Committee.
