Diamond Eyes a Run for Lt. Governor

Rep. Russ Diamond (R-102) to seek GOP nomination as Lt. Governor

102nd District State Representative Russ Diamond has announced plans to seek the Republican Party nomination for Lt. Governor this year.

Diamond tells the Lebanon Valley Daily News that it’s very early in the campaign process, and there’s a lot of ground ahead to tread:

He believes he’s in a very strong position already, given that he has prior experience running as a Republican candidate for Lt. Governor 12 years ago:

Asked who he’d like for a running mate, Diamond says it’s still too early in that process to hitch his wagon to any particular candidate. He says his only goal is to build a strong ticket to challenge Democratic Party Gubernatorial candidate Josh Shapiro.

As for his career in the state house, Diamond also plans to seek reelection to a fifth term this year, as well.
