Sponsorship of at least 2 events in the community designed to inform and educate members of the public as to employment opportunities in broadcasting.
On May 22, 2013, a studio tour was given to a 5-member Rotary Team Study Exchange Group from Scotland. The
5-member Rotary team was briefly on air on WLBR and WQIC.
On Monday, November 18, 2013, a studio tour was given to Cub Pack 412 from Salem Lutheran Church, Lebanon. There were 4 Tiger Cubs and 5 parents.
On Tuesday, February 18, 2014, a studio tour was given to Cub Pack 415 from Cornwall United Methodist Church. There were 11 scouts plus 4 sisters and 9 adults.
On Wednesday, February 19, 2014, a studio tour was given to Cub Pack 490 (Tigers) from Jonestown U.C.C. Church. There were 11 scouts and 7 adults.
Participation in at least four events or programs sponsored by educational institutions relating to career opportunities in broadcasting.
1. WQIC Program Director hosted “shadows” from several high schools, a cub scout troop and one from Germany. A student coordinated with their high school, or in in one case the church associated with the cub scout troop, spends time with Program Director learning more about what is included in pursuing a career in radio broadcasting. 2. A sales person participated in a Career Day program at ELCO Middle School. See below.
