Lebanon Police have made an arrest in connection with last Wednesday’s fatal shooting at North 6th and Crowell Streets.
Monday, 16-year old Jaedyn Gaines of Lebanon was charged with homicide and conspiracy to commit homicide.
Lebanon Police Chief Todd Breiner says Gaines and a second suspect intended to rob both the 16-year old homicide victim who was driving the car and his passenger. Gaines and the other suspect had arranged to meet the victim and his friend to buy marijuana.
Police say the homicide victim and the second suspect began struggling after Gaines took the marijuana from one of the passengers in the car. During the struggle, Gaines allegedly shot the driver, then he and the other suspect ran from the scene.
The 16-year old shooting victim then drove south on 6th Street, crashing into several parked cars and a food truck, ultimately flipping his car onto its roof at North 6th and Lehman Street. The driver died at the scene from his gunshot wound.
Gaines was arraigned and placed in the Lebanon County Prison without bail, while police continue to search for the second suspect, whose identity will be forthcoming.
The police investigation into this homicide is ongoing.
In addition, Chief Breiner says Friday’s preliminary autopsy results on the victim… whose identity has not yet been released… confirm that he died from a single gunshot wound to his chest.
