A Bethel Township, Lebanon County man arrested in August of 2020 for beating up his father and ultimately causing the injuries that resulted in his death was sentenced Tuesday by Lebanon County Judge Charles T. Jones, Jr.
23-year old Noah Hodges called 911 late in the evening on August 22nd, 2020 and told dispatchers to send an ambulance because he had just assaulted his father at their home on the 100-block of North Pine Grove Street.
66-year old Lewis Hodges was transported to the Penn State Hershey Medical Center where he later died from his injuries.
Although he had been charged with criminal homicide and scheduled for a jury trial at the end of this month, Hodges agreed to plead guilty to third degree murder with a sentence of 17 to 40 years in state prison, plus a fine of $500 and restitution for the costs of prosecution.
Hodges must also undergo drug and alcohol treatment and psychiatric evaluations while in prison. He was credited for the one year and four months he’s already served at the Lebanon County Prison.
